Introducing QuiraLock
Powerful Protection Using a Standard USB Memory Stick
QuiraLock is an extremely resilient and cost-effective
method for protecting computer systems and their data
from loss, theft, unauthorised access or
interference. It works by converting your own standard
USB memory stick into a high-security locking device for
Windows-based desktops, laptops and servers (with
Windows XP operating system or later). Each individual Access
Key
is securely protected by 2048-bit encryption,
which exceeds defence grade standards. Click

How Does It Work?
After logging in, your computer system
checks that the correctly registered USB Access Key is present, and
if not prohibits any further access.
Simply removing the authorised USB Access Key mid-session immediately locks
the computer system: re-inserting it also requires the screen to be
unlocked or network credentials to be re-inserted, depending upon
the configuration of the protected system. QuiraLock is provided
with a comprehensive User Manual which fully describes all aspects
of its installation, management and operation. |

Standard or Enterprise Edition?
The Standard version of QuiraLock is ideal for
home users, small businesses or isolated corporate
systems. The license allows for the protection of one
device, and allows the user to register one or two USB
Access Keys. This allows one key to be carried for
normal use, with the second being securely kept in case
the first is lost or stolen. If you are concerned about
both USB Access Keys being damaged, lost or stolen, you
should consider the QuiraLock Gold option (see below).
The Enterprise version of QuiraLock is designed
for corporate environments: in addition to the one or
two USB Access Keys for the individual device user, this
option includes a third password-protected key option
for system administrator use. This allows the system
administrator to use their own key to access all
corporate devices for maintenance or support purposes.
Whilst the device user can change their own USB Access
Keys if required, they have no access to the system
administrator's configuration. If you are concerned about
either the device user or the system administrator
Access Keys being damaged, lost or stolen, you should
consider the QuiraLock Gold option (see below).

Whichever version you
choose, QuiraLock should be used alongside a regular,
effective data backup activity, with backup media being
stored securely away from the originating device. For
absolute data security, you should also consider fully
encrypting the media drives within your device: Quira
would be pleased to provide a selection of solutions for data encryption.
Ultimate Data Compromise Protection
Both the Standard and Enterprise versions of QuiraLock
incorporate a number of innovative security features,
including progressive options to provide zero access or
ultimately to perform a
total data wipe after a pre-selected number of failed
login attempts. This safeguards your valuable and
confidential data in the event of the device being lost, stolen
or compromised.

Please note that the data wiping feature is
turned off by default, and requires manual activation by
the user. |
